2025-02-19: I recently was having some issues with an old Macintosh 3.5" Floppy disk drive. I decided to try recapping it to see if that would resolve the issues. Since I couldn't find any info online, I figured the least I can do is create a quick guide based on the work I just completed. Hope this helps someone else.
Disassembled drive; Left image shows bottom of the drive with manufacturer identification. Right image shows disassembled drive after replacing the capacitors.
There are quite a few guides online on disassembly of this drive. Don't touch the optical sensor and you should be ok.
There are a total of 5 capacitors on this drive.
