2024-07-15: I recently installed a new security camera and needed a PoE adapter to power it. I rummaged around my junk cable boxes and happily found a PoE adapter (brand new, btw). I plugged it in and began to attempt to set the new camera up. And that is where things started to go off the road... and possibly through a guardrail. (I think I may have wasted a *bit* too much time on this one.) The power adapter in question is a Ubiquiti GP-A240-050G.

This should have been a simple job... I quickly realized I had a power issue and the camera wasn't booting up. I then realized that my PoE adapter didn't have a power light. I quickly double-checked input power - all good there. Then I searched for another PoE adapter...and couldn't find one. And it was a holiday with no stores open and I wanted the project done. Well lets just crack it open and take a peek... (and this is where I started to hike down a rabbit trail...)

2026-03-28: while transferring this to the new website, I realized I never finished this. Below is a quick addition of the images I left off. I'll try to come back and finish this at some point.
